Chrissie and I took her terrier Fred up to the Lickey Hills Country Park a couple of weeks back. Unfortunately, the proximity of unleashed dogs ensured our visit was briefer than we'd hoped (thank you, thoughtless and selfish owners), but I did manage to grab a photograph of this rather tranquil spot.

Fred update: he's still faring fairly well for a dog of his double-digit seniority, although the fickle furball has rather irritatingly developed an aversion to dried food right after Chrissie and I invested in a massive sack of the stuff, preferring instead to sate his appetite with tins of miscellaneous offal in water-impregnated jelly, sold ( Read more... )

Popped over to Chrissie's flat yesterday. Watched Reanimator on Blu-ray, then stuck with director Stuart Gordon and lead actor Jeffrey Combs for the Masters of Horror adaptation of Poe's 'The Black Cat' (an intriguing blend of fantasy and biography), followed by a Dario Argento contribution to that same show, an adaptation of F Paul Wilson's ' ( Read more... )

Met up with rayholloway at the Midlands Arts Centre on Friday, for the fourth gig in Judie Tzuke's 'Songs & Stories' tour, a stripped-down acoustic set with the emphasis upon audience interaction. The original plan was for halloween_jill to join us, but unfortunately she didn't feel up to it.
